    A Question on Deer Antlers

My husband found a deer antler on the side of our gravel road and we cut a few sections for the dogs. Are they safe? Do they need to be removed after a dog chews on it for awhile. It sure is a hard thing to cut. Can it break teeth? Thanks for any advice.

Our two have been chewing on a pair of antlers for over a year with no problems. They make great chews IMHO, this year if we get some decent bucks...will be bringing back some more antler's just for the "kids".

Ken and Aisha, Thank you. I have given a portion of the antler my husband cut to Nikki. She is working the inside of it but the outside still is very hard. It had 4 points on it so we should be able to get a few cut for the other dogs.
