    CoCo is 1....

Well...it's hard to believe that this little girl is going to be one tomorrow. Actually it was 2am when the litter was starting to be born according to the breeder...lasting until 5am.
Here is CoCo when we went to pick her up at 8 1/2 weeks old....how time flies. She's been a pistol...but in all...a wonderful...loving...lifelong companion. She's always near me...starting to be protective of the property...yet loves people...forget about kids...she goes crazy for kids...yet she has this overwhelming calm about her when the kids are near. The only problem is CoCo's a "kisser/licker"...and parent's act like she is going to rip their kids face off. I have to remind myself she is still a puppy...even at a year...and she is still NILIF...crated...and were still in puppy school (sub novice). She has her moment's of greatness...and moment's of not so greatness...but we love her all the same.

Here are a few pics of CoCo...from when we picked her up... to recently....enjoy....and thanks for being such a great community! I hope your Rotties provide you all with the laugh's...proud moment's...and those times where you want to pull your hair out...yelling at the sky in a nice voice...while your Rottie sit's by the crater they just dug in the yard...next to the rug that was shredded in minutes...ect.

1/27/11 and a few weeks to follow....

Happy Birthday CoCo! What a beautiful girl! Reading your post you sound like me! Sometimes I forget that Jewel is only 8 months, and very much a puppy. Still a lot of learning for the both of us!

I like your rope hanging from the tree. Do you have elastic on a part of it?

Yes....It's tied off to a heavy duty and doubled bungee cord. That way there is some play to the rope...making it more dynamic.
Dynamic means that it's designed to stretch under load so as to absorb the shock force....providing more safety for CoCo...and fun...as it has lot's of spring to it.
It's a pretty cheap and simple set up...one 100' roll of rope from Home Depot, one pulley the size of the rope...and a bungee from the garage. She loves it...I used it to teach her "pull"...and it's really been a great adjunct for strengthening without the impact of jumping...ect. I can do a simple diagram if you want...it's pretty straight forward...and eventually a tire is going to be attached to that rope.

On a side note...we went to Petsmart for CoCo's first birthday...got her a new Kong...a rope...frisbee for play outside...and a nylabone black chew. The Nylabone chew took her two minutes before she had pieces taken out of it...that's got to go back.
While there we hit the scale...and CoCo is officially 91.6 pounds at 1y/o...I guestimate she will be right at 96-100 when she reaches the 2 year mark...which is 20 more lbs than I anticipated she would be for a "lady".
Thanks for all the replies...she's a great pup.
