It is frustrating I know, but what can you do?There are sooooo many ignorant people out there that make comments like this all the time. The thing is, you can't even talk to them because their mind is closed to anything you say. All you can do is try to show as many people as you can what a "good" rottweiler is like by taking your rottie out in public as an ambassador for the breed. There are so many people that get a rottweiler for the wrong reasons, or sometimes, even for the right reasons, but they don't know how to handle this breed and run into problems that result in incidents like the one in the article. Rotties as well as other big breeds have gotten a bad rap, but if people were to do their research, they would see that there are many more dog bites from smaller dogs, they are just not newsworthy. No one wants to hear about a jack russell terrier biting someone, or a cocker spaniel, etc. Of course, the larger the dog, the more damage they can do, hence, you don't hear about the smaller dogs. We can only be vigilant and stay on top of the BSL in our areas and attend meetings where possible to prevent legislation from being passed that would be detrimental to big breeds such as ours.
Take a deep breath, angela, and let the anger go.

Well if they manage to change the law , they are not taking my dog away , they can try![]()
i hate this... this is why stupid idiots shoudnt even be allowed a lab, im sure they will turn it vicious as well, i have seen young so called "men" here that have labs and they are ferocious, i hate this, it breaks my heart, people call me rottweiler a baby because he dosent attack them! my cats scare the dogs to bits too! LOL

sadly...its not always as you say stupid idiot owners, I know and love this breedeven though I love the Rottweilers I had one my Jake that absolutley hated children he was never allowed to go any where near kids starting at 5 months old because he freaked at the sight of them and I know in my heart he would have killed any child that came near him it was very sad but a long story short Jake had a brain tumor that took his life 9/23/2010 I loved him dearly but I can honestly say I never seen any animal change the way he did it was down right frighting even for me and I knew he trusted me right to the end but I also know it could have been any other breed that was suffering the way my Jake was and maybe the owner just didnt see it.
Im sorry about Jake, that must have been hard, funny u said that, my 2 past rotties didnt hate kids, but each time theyr were around, they herded them! and my newest rottie actually pushes them with his head, my brothers girl friend, has 5 brothers, 4 sisters, that A LOT of kids! and when they come round the dogs bewitched and dosent take his eyes off them, each time they come i grab him and put him in the kennel, and when we are out, i never let him off leash if there are kids around, i guess its cuz kids come to their eye level, dont know

Quite likely the result of not being thourough enough when placing puppies in homes, a trait usually of BYB's BUT also sometimes of those that come into the breed do well in the show ring and thinks this gives them a license to breed breed breed and all they really care about is where their next champion is coming from and how bloody quickly they cash get the cash in and the puppies out of the door regardless of who the puppy might be going to.
ALL dogs should be microchipped, and details should include the breeder so they may also be held accountable/responsible for whom they sell dogs to
I am starting to agree that maybe when in public our breed should have to be muzzled, this may just help prevent our breed ending up on the banned list
I hate to see dog with the muzzle on , but on the other hand you are right that it might just save our dogs from the banned list , the problem is that most of the bad owners dont give a S...t about the dogs or the public some of them cannot even afford to take the dog to the vet , these people should never ever own dog , i dont know why they are so stupid .
Kaza rottweilers are banned here, they are not allowed in dubai, but as i live in sharjah its ok, but if i do go to dubai, hoshi will have to be muzzled, i agree with what you are saying, and you are a very responsible breeder, you love and respect the breed, and i have the highest respect for you, , i just got a facebook message regarding a sad case of a skinny male rottweiler, at 2 years old, so sad, i want to help find him a home, now i have a cruciate puppy, a male 2 year old emaciated and abused, and a female rottie who needs a home because the owner cant fly the dog to the uk as per the uk law, only 5 pets allowed, here is the pic of the male 2 year old, broke my heart, cant believe they let him get to this stage untrained and emaciated![]()
